Kay Carlson

Kay specializes in creating art using flowers planted and harvested from her garden. The flowers are grown naturally and are chemical-free. She prepares the flowers for drying in the traditional way - by individually pressing them in a book. Kay has a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a major study in Interior Design. Before moving to Virginia, she spent many years designing luxury furniture and teaching art at her old elementary school. She is passionate about innovation and creativity, and inspiring others in the process.

I love to work with nature for its limitless supply of beauty, and ability to evoke positive emotions.

Taking something unremarkable like pressed flowers and turning them into something beautiful and unexpected allows me to channel my creativity in an organic, unconventional way.
